Great to meet you!

I have over 28 years of vast experience in clinical work with a broad range of challenges. I approach therapy as a unique relationship and personal process of self-discovery and healing at the client's pace. While you can't always avoid the challenges that arise in your life, you do have choices about how you address them. My approach draws from the idea that there is much to learn from these struggles and that by decreasing the shame that makes it hard for you to face yourself, you create opportunities for making real and enduring changes in your life. And you don't have to do this alone.

I specialize in working with the unique challenges faced by high-achieving professionals and students, partners & family members with loved ones struggling with emotional challenges, and individuals recovering from trauma/childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship conflicts.

My approach to therapy

I conceptualize clients' challenges and needs from a more psychodynamic perspective, and consider attachment patterns, early life experiences, and relationship histories. My therapeutic tool bag is vast, and I believe in customized treatment because what may work for you may not work for someone else, and vice versa. I often weave in interventions from Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFiT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Structural Family Therapy.

What you can expect from me

My style is warm, calm, approachable, gentle, and collaborative. I’m not a fast-paced, advice-giving therapist, but I do give direct and honest feedback. I like to go deeper while balancing acceptance and change. While sincerely validating your emotions and experiences, I will gently orient you toward the changes you want to see in your life.
