Great to meet you!
Before completing my Master’s Degree in 2002, I worked in a variety of different fields. I worked as a Registered Nurse for twenty-two years before attending Villanova University to study for a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Relations. After graduating from Villanova, and becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I worked in a variety of mental health positions, including having my own private practice. I have experience as a drug and alcohol counselor, inpatient and outpatient counselor and community mental health counselor. I am licensed as an LPC in SC for 6 years, but I have been an LPC for 23 years and I am a National Board-Certified Counselor.
I emphasize creating positive changes in behavior utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including holistic, cognitive and systemic family interventions. I implement the most compatible therapeutic approach with the personality style, situation and needs of each person. I believe that each client is a distinct individual who has the thirst for knowledge and understanding of the life challenges that often cause an imbalance in his or her psyche. It is my goal to help the client trust the wisdom within to lead the way to find and create balance.
Anthony Robbins said: "In order to experience great lands, you first have to be willing to lose sight of the shore." This voyage requires a lot of courage and inspiration. The answers are within, and my goal is to help you take this voyage to reach your inner destination.
I am experienced and interested in addressing many of life's challenges including Life transitions, Health and Wellness, Stress, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Grief and loss, self-esteem, ADHD, communication and skill building.
