Great to meet you!

Reaching out takes courage, and finding someone who truly understands you makes all the difference. I am Isela, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with twelve years of experience supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and the constant pressure of holding everything together. I work often with women navigating identity, caregiving, and other women's issues; with first-generation and immigrant clients sorting through cultural expectations and family loyalty; with parents and partners under strain; and with adults whose anger and irritability have started running the show. As a bilingual therapist I offer sessions in English and Spanish, so you can tell your story in the language that feels most like home.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and built around you, never one-size-fits-all. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you catch the thought patterns that keep you stuck, Cognitive Processing Therapy to work gently through PTSD and trauma, and Motivational Interviewing to help you reconnect with your own strengths and goals. With couples and family relationship struggles, we slow the cycle down and practice new ways of being heard. With anxiety and panic, we build skills you can use the moment your body starts to spiral. Twelve years of clinical work has taught me that healing happens in relationship, so we move at your pace and build on what is already working in your life. Many clients say our sessions feel less like a clinical appointment and more like talking with someone who genuinely gets it.

What you can expect from me

In our first session there is no pressure to have everything figured out. We start by getting to know each other. I will listen to what brought you here, what you are hoping for, and what matters most to you, and from there we shape a plan that fits your life. You can expect a therapist who is fully present, celebrates your progress, and meets you with honesty and compassion. Many clients tell me they leave that first conversation feeling lighter, understood, and more hopeful about what comes next. When you are ready, you can book with me right here on Headway.
