Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling and a Doctorate of Arts from New York University in Music Therapy. With over 20 years of experience I have assisted individuals with anxiety, depression, and trauma to explore current emotional conflicts, and to develop coping skills leading to increased self-esteem, along with a sense of control, joy and purpose in their lives. You do not have to suffer alone.

My approach to therapy

My approach begins with establishing a supportive therapeutic relationship. Each individual has their own story to tell, and together we can identify current obstacles and develop coping strategies to improve mood, self-esteem, and quality of life. Cognitive behavioral techniques are introduced to establish awareness of how thoughts and actions determine our feelings and state of well-being. As a Christian based therapist, my approach includes establishing connections with the body, mind, and spirit. Trauma, grief, loss, and on-going conflict in relationships are often accompanied by physical symptoms. Recommendations are made for mind/body resources such as relaxation, mindfulness, guided imagery, yoga, and tai chi practices. My counseling logo, “Creative Resonance” was created with the intention of assisting clients in “Creating Authentic Lives, Moving from Dissonance to Harmony.”

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I strive to create a safe and comforting relationship in which it is easy to open up and identify problem areas that you would like to explore. We will identify goals and I can provide educational information that may clarify what you are going through. We will begin to explore how current stressors have evolved from past trauma, and identify coping skills to alleviate current symptoms. You should leave this first session with a clear idea of how therapy will proceed, and with a renewed sense of connection and hope for the future.
