Carol LeBlanc

Hi I'm Carol LeBlanc and I've spent the better part of my adult life working in the mental health field. I began working with chronically mentally ill seniors who were being transferred from State Hospital settings to more humane halfway housing that created greater comfort, freedom and self actualization for individuals aged 60 and over. This led to more formal training as a Geriatric Clinical Social Worker at the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. I have always had a particular interest in work towards understanding the needs/concerns of seniors and striving to improve their psychosocial needs. This has never been more important than during such a dramatic shift in how psychosocial services are provided.

I later graduated from a Clinical Psychology Program, PhD with a focus on the interaction between multiple substance abuse, chronic mental illness and trauma. More recently I've seen an uptick in individuals seeking treatment for addictive gambling and pornography addictions.

Finally, there seems to be greater social interest in women seeking single motherhood coupled by men who cite an inability to develop meaningful romantic relationships. My PhD dissertation focused on Single Motherhood by Choice. I would be very interested in the development of greater understanding of men who appear to self-identify as unable to initiate and develop traditional relationships. I look forward to providing psychosocial services to Headway clients seeking a variety of mental health concerns.
