Great to meet you!

Are you a woman aged 25 or older navigating substance use recovery, struggling with difficult emotions, or feeling disconnected from yourself? Perhaps you are managing life transitions, balancing competing responsibilities, or trying to understand patterns that no longer serve you. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate these challenges alone. I strive to create a welcoming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, explore your experiences, and work toward meaningful change.

As a Mental Health Counselor specializing in substance use disorders and recovery, I support women aged 25 and older who want to develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional well-being, and build a more fulfilling life. I believe therapy should recognize you as a whole person, including your experiences, relationships, strengths, and personal goals. My approach combines evidence-based counseling with an appreciation for the connection between emotional well-being, physical experiences, and daily habits.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on transparency, trust, and shared goals. From our first session, I explain my theoretical orientation and therapeutic approach so you can understand how I work, ask questions, and decide whether my approach aligns with your needs and the support you are seeking. I want you to feel informed and empowered in making decisions about your care.

My approach combines evidence-based counseling with an appreciation for the connection between emotional well-being, physical experiences, and daily habits. I draw from therapeutic approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic-informed strategies to help you explore patterns, understand emotional responses, and develop practical coping skills. When clinically appropriate, I may also incorporate supportive techniques such as guided imagery to complement our therapeutic work.

Your experience in therapy is individualized and active. Depending on your needs and goals, our work may include exploring educational resources and conducting your own research from an informed, self-empowerment perspective, establishing meaningful goals, identifying personal strengths, and using therapeutic tools to work toward those goals. I encourage questions, curiosity, and collaboration so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and participate actively in your growth.

Throughout my two decades of work in the behavioral health field, I have maintained a consistent commitment to my therapeutic approach while continuing to learn and develop professionally. Over the past five years, I have further refined my areas of concentration by incorporating holistic perspectives into my understanding of well-being. I strive to use therapeutic methods consistently and intentionally, selecting approaches that are appropriate to your needs, aligned with our goals, and within my professional scope of practice.

What you can expect from me

Whether you are working toward recovery, managing stress, navigating life transitions, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I will meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Our sessions provide an opportunity to explore challenges, identify your strengths, and establish goals that feel meaningful to you. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that respects your needs and supports your therapeutic goals.

Outside of counseling, I am an author and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. My book, Femme Fatale on the Mat, reflects my personal journey in a sport where women are often underrepresented. Through training, I have learned valuable lessons about perseverance, discipline, humility, and navigating challenges. These experiences have shaped my appreciation for the courage it takes to grow, adapt, and keep moving forward.

I believe you do not have to have everything figured out to begin therapy. My goal is to help you recognize your existing strengths, build new skills, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and aligned with your values. Wherever you are in your journey, we can work together to explore what healing and growth mean to you.
