Great to meet you!

I am a board certified psychiatrist and a practicing psychotherapist, with 40 years of direct patient care experience. I currently provide psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services online to women ages 20 to 70.

Since 2010, I have specialized solely in women's mental health issues. For me this was a natural fit, as most of my patients were women anyway.

In our first sessions we will explore the issues that led to your seeking help now, and decide how best to work together towards your goals.

You also can get a good sense of me and if you would like to continue to work together. That said, I believe a good initial evaluation is essential and so helpful, no matter what the next steps are! It helps you to better understanding what is going on and what you may need at the current time.

If we decide that working together is in your best interest, we will move forward to the treatment phase of this process. A mutually agreed upon personalized treatment plan will be created by session three.

My approach to your care will be ieclectic, informed by the many different trainings that I have taken, and continue to take.

People find me easy to talk to, warm, honest and direct, and I strive to ensure that every patient I work with feels valued and comfortable.

No matter what challenges you are facing, I believe that some positive change is always possible ,

and I will do my best to help guide you towards that goal.

So let's take advantage of a phone consultation soon.

There are conditions that cannot be addressed in short term telehealth care. If I cannot treat you, I will let you know, during the consultation.

My approach to therapy

As we work towards your goals, we will periodically review the progress being made and adjust the plan as needed.

Your input and perspective is essential to achieving the desired outcomes.

After each session I believe that you will have a sense of where we are going and what you might focus on in between sesssions.

Therapeutic change happens outside of the session as much as it does within it. I encourage journaling, tasks, challenges and meditation as adluncts to your in-session work.

I believe in shorter courses of treatment. Taking a time out and returning to treatment is often a useful techniquefor personal growth.

If you are seeking treatment for drug use, alcohol use, suicidality, psychosis or a court issue I am not the psychiatrist you should see. I do not work in a hospital.

Also telehealth has its limitations and I have no expertise in certain conditions such as personality disorders.

Do see my website and my ad on psychology today BEFORE setting up a phone consultation.

What you can expect from me

The first one or two sessions will be a bit longer, than the average length of sessions. Of course, history will be taken and you will share what is most relevant to you, but we will also be getting to know each other- starting a working relationship to build upon, over time.

I think you will leave our first session feeling that I have focused, with great interest, on you and your situation.

Individualized care requires more time at the outset. Everyone's path is unique.

So you may not leave with a full treatment plan after the first session, but you will leave knowing you were heard, and that many interesting doors have been opened.

It is my beliefe that a good fit and a good start will provide you with the best outcomes.. which is my goal...
