I am a highly experienced and trained clinical psychologist with more than 40 years of professional skill. I keep current with what is happening in my area(s) of expertise, making sure that I provide excellent care to all those with whom I work.
I believe that trust and confidence in your therapist is critically import and the relationship should reflect that trust. Without a positive a connection, therapy would be impossible. Trust, however, develops over time and is a result of my being your advocate and your feeling that I am fully present and listening carefully to all that you are saying. The focus is on your goals; you set the agenda and I am there to facilitate your achieving those goals.
A first meeting gives us an opportunity to see if I am a good fit for your work on yourself. At the end of that first session, there should be the beginning of a sense that we can work together on the issues that matter to you. We most likely would set some preliminary goals at that point and I would be available to answers any questions you might have about the process of therapy and how it works.
