Great to meet you!

I'm Carole, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Cedar Hill, Texas, and I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, and ADHD. As a Black therapist, I bring deep cultural understanding to my work — I know what it means to hold both strength and pain, and I create space where clients don't have to shrink either. I see clients across Texas via telehealth, and I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and Cigna. My training is in trauma-focused CBT, CBT, play therapy for children, and strength-based approaches. Whether you're a parent seeking support for your child, a woman navigating life's transitions, or someone finally ready to tend to their own healing — you're in the right place.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and client-directed — meaning you set the pace and the priorities, and I bring the tools and the expertise. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT to help clients identify and shift the thought patterns that are keeping them stuck. For my younger clients, play therapy creates a natural, developmentally appropriate space where children can process what words sometimes can't capture. Throughout all of my work, I use a strength-based lens — I'm not here to fix you, because you're not broken. I'm here to help you find your way back to yourself. I also bring intentional cultural humility to every session: race, identity, family history, and community context are never outside the room — they're part of the work.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about getting to know each other — no pressure, no homework, no need to have a perfectly organized story. I'll ask about what's bringing you in, what your life looks like right now, and what you're hoping therapy can do for you. We'll talk through what feels most pressing, and together we'll start to sketch out what a path forward might look like. Many clients tell me they leave the first session feeling lighter — not because anything has been solved, but because they finally said the thing out loud in a space where it was received without judgment. That's where we begin.
