I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of nursing experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including emergency medicine, correctional healthcare, geriatric psychiatry, and mental health services. Throughout my, I have worked with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use concerns and life stressors.
I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with understanding the whole person not just symptoms or diagnoses. My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I recognize that each persons experiences, culture, environment, relationships, and life circumstances play an important role in their mental health and overall well-being. I work closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, values and needs. Treatment may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, education, supportive counseling, and coordination of care with other healthcare providers and support systems.
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a therapeutic relationship. During this session, I will take time to learn about your concerns, symptoms, personal history, medical history, mental health history, current stressor, strengths and treatment goals. I am committed to providing a welcoming, supportive, and confidential space where you can speak openly without fear of judgement. My goal is to help you gain insight, develop effective coping strategies and move toward improved emotional well-being and quality of life.
