Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker, living in South Carolina, with over 10 years of experience in the field. I have spent that time providing grief counseling and support to a diverse population of clients in a hospice setting and in private practice. During this time I have seen an array of clients with difficulties related to mental health and depression, burnout, life changes, aging parents, financial crisis, and even end of life planning. Some of my favorite tools include CBT, Solution-focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Life is full of many different changes, losses and adjustments, and my goal is to assist to assist others on that journey.

Disclaimer I am a mandated reporter, and am required to report any instance where a client has stated that they are a harm to themselves or others to the proper authorities. Better Help is not a platform for emergency use. If you feel that you are being physically threatened, are actively in an emergency situation, or are currently experiencing thoughts/intention to commit suicide, please call 911.

My approach to therapy

I use a client-centered approach to all therapy sessions, meaning that our goals in therapy are generated from your individual needs. I offer insight and collaboration, along with professional knowledge and experience to assist in the change process. Whatever it is that you want to work through or on, I am there with you to help build the road map and and coping skills you will need going forward.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will consist of introductions, assessment of your situation and developing a plan the best supports your goals in therapy. From that point on, when we meet, we will discuss approaches that can help you to achieve better outcomes (e.g. such as better mindset, coping skills for anxiety, or behavioral activation for depression to name a few), and track your personal progress at each meeting.
