Great to meet you!

I am a newly Licensed Professional Counselor with over 4 years of professional counseling/therapy experience. Before I began my career as a therapist, I served as a volunteer peer counselor for the William Way LGBT Community Center in Philadelphia, PA, for 4 years. I specialize in trauma healing, supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and couples/individuals seeking relationship support and counseling. My therapeutic toolbox encompasses various modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I often incorporate mindfulness and somatically-based interventions to facilitate deeper connections between the mind and body.

My approach to therapy

As a Person-Centered therapist, I believe people are the experts on themselves -- nobody knows you better than you! I strive to help individuals deepen their connections with, and understandings of, their own emotions, body, mind, needs, values, boundaries, autonomy, and agency. As such, I won't tell you what to do, but I will collaborate closely with you to create personalized treatment plans that align with your unique needs and goals. In our work together, I will walk with you on whatever life path you may be on while doing my best to support you and faciliate opportunities for learning new skills, enhancing your emotional processing, creating changes to patterns that may no longer serve, and healing from past wounds. In doing so, my goal for every client is to help them feel more empowered to trust themselves to navigate life's challenges and live more authentically.

I strive to create an inclusive environment that allows you to feel brave being vulnerable without fear of judgment. I employ a multiculturally-informed, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to counseling. My "style" is direct, honest, and warm -- I will always tell you the truth and point out what I deem as clinically appropriate, but I will do so in a compassionate, caring manner. I value humor and the power of a good laugh -- clients who choose to work with me can expect to dig deep, work hard, and share moments of silliness and laughter along the way.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be an introductory one where you will have the opportunity to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about you, your life story, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. If this is not your first time working with a therapist for individual therapy or couples counseling, my hope is that you do not feel like you're "starting over" -- I will do my best to meet you where you're at. Come as you are and feel free to share whatever feels right to you.

I strive to create a warm, relaxed, and welcoming environment that allows you to feel heard, understood, and secure. Whether it's the first session or the last, the door is always open to ask any questions, express concerns, and share feedback. At the end of our first session, my hope is that you will walk away feeling ready to start a collaborative process where we will work together to make your goals a reality.
