Great to meet you!

Caroline “Callie” Fernandez is a Columbia University trained, and Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, with extensive experience in medication management and psychotherapy. While Callie cares for clients across the lifespan, she has additional training in the treatment of children/adolescents, and integrates developmental strategies into all of her client work.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Since focusing solely on medication might not address all of a client’s goals, Callie strives to understand the whole individual to tailor unique treatment recommendations. Callie’s approach considers a client’s nutrition, physical activity, social patterns, as well as unique features such as one’s cultural identity and background; this is shaped by her own experience as a 2nd generation Cuban-American.

What you can expect from our first session

Callie strives to create a space where clients feel welcome and seen. By prioritizing active, neutral, and non-judgmental listening, Callie works to build an interactive assessment with the client's help. From this, Callie works with clients in order to come up with a collaborative treatment plan that encompasses their needs, goals, and evidence based practices.
