Great to meet you!

I received a BA in Journalism with a minor in Social & Economic Justice from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2009, and an Master of Social Work (MSW) from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2016. I completed a Post-MSW Clinical Fellowship at UNC CAPS from 2016-2018, and completed EMDR basic training with EMDRIA in 2022. Before starting my own practice, I trained and/or worked in a residential eating disorder center, university counseling center, hospice care organization, and community counseling agency.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is warm, relational, person-centered, and strengths-based. I take an "eclectic" approach drawing from various modalities/orientations in order to support each client's specific needs. I often incorporate third wave cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based interventions and am trained in EMDR. I'm LGBTQIA+ affirming, work from an anti-oppression/anti-racist lens, and always strive to provide inclusive, intersectional care.

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to get to know themselves more deeply and feel seen, heard and connected in the process. I often work with clients to explore patterns that leave them feeling "stuck," build coping & self-care, heal around pain & past wounds, and ultimately, find healthier and more empowering ways of being in relationship with Self & the world.
