Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Caroline! For the past ten years or so, I've been working as a psychotherapist, most recently specializing in trauma and attachment. Through my practice, I've gotten the chance to work with people in just about every age bracket, walk of life, gender, ethnic background, and sexual orientation. Those moments of human connection - hearing people's stories, sharing the weight of their burdens, and watching them bloom - that's what I'm truly passionate about!

When I'm not doing therapy, I love to read, go for hikes, hang out with my cat (who may occasionally make cameo appearances in our sessions!), and start craft projects that may or may not get finished...

A bit about my approach to therapy

So I think it's fair to say that no single therapeutic modality is truly one-size, fits-all. One of my favorite parts of being a therapist is taking what I've learned about various types of therapy (CBT, narrative therapy, IFS/parts work, EFT, attachment theory, DBT, and trauma therapy, to name a few) and working together to tailor a blend of approaches that feels right for you! You bring the motivation and the intuitive self-knowledge to heal; I'll bring the warmth, support, guidance, and expertise.

Your needs and preferences will be held as the highest priorities in our sessions. My commitment to you is to always respect the value of your time, match your effort, and do my best to help you along your journey!

What you can expect from our first session

On a session-by-session basis, you can expect to walk away with a mood lift and feeling of relief, as well as something to focus on in the interim before our next appointment. That may be something concrete like a worksheet or article or exercise; it may be more abstract, like a quote to reflect on or a thought to consider - it all depends on your preferences (since some people aren't particularly keen on having homework from therapy).

More broadly, I hope when you're at the point of stepping away from our sessions, you're taking away a sense of accomplishment and pride in yourself. A brighter outlook on your future. A more comfortable way of co-existing with difficult feelings. And the knowledge that I'm in your corner and rooting for you!
