Great to meet you!

I'm glad to see you here and hope you find the support you're seeking. As a therapist, my priority is your wellness, which means that my role is to promote your feelings of being seen, listened to, and understood as you work through life's challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your lived experiences, needs you know of (and are still figuring out), and goals for yourself.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, stress, and difficulties with boundaries and self-esteem. My objective is to support you in the process of self-exploration so that we can notice patterns, build on existing strengths, and work toward meaningful change.

Therapy with me is a collaborative process and I respect your insight to what brings you here, and I take an approach that fits your style.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is eclectic, which means that I use techniques from an array of modalities. I find pragmatic skills and a solution-oriented approach to be helpful as we make sense of deeper experiences and the impact of the past on our present. Thus, I try to integrate what we can do in the here-and-now to help alleviate present symptoms while also fostering insight to past experiences so we can tend to those underlying issues, too, as a part of feeling better.

For those who are curious for more details, my formalized trainings include: CBT (including TEAM-CBT and TF-CBT), EMDR, EFT, Gottman, brainspotting, and financial therapy. I am also experienced supporting clients using techniques from DBT, solution-focused, attachment-based, IFS-informed, narrative and humanistic theories.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, most of the time will be me listening to you share what has brought you here. I will invite you to tell me more about the concerns that matter to you and what you look forward to addressing through therapy.

Since my goal in the first session is to understand you, I will ask questions about your past and present experiences, as well as other memories that may be relevant. You're welcome to disclose what's comfortable for you. It is okay to not have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin, and I understand it may even be hard to talk about some of the things that have been weighing on you. I respect that boundary and we can work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we will begin identifying your goals and discussing how we can work collaboratively to help you move toward greater emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share what you need from therapy during the first session and beyond.

You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to accompany you with compassion, curiosity, and support. Therapy is a process, and I would be humbled to join you at this juncture of your journey.
