Great to meet you!

I pride myself on diversifying my skill set as a social worker and have worked in a myriad of settings over the years. I have experience ranging from community mental health, inpatient acute psychiatric, outpatient, mental health policy, and veteran’s healthcare.

My areas of expertise include psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, military and non-military PTSD, interpersonal and relationship issues, family conflict, stress, and self-esteem. I see both individuals from 18 years old and upward as well as couples for couples counseling. My treatment modalities vary from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, humanistic therapy, and motivational interviewing. Currently, I am conducting sessions via telehealth where we will engage in a 53-minute psychotherapy session. I am working to open up to in person sessions in an office space shortly.

My approach to therapy

In individual therapy, my approach is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed. This allows me to tailor each session to what you are coming to the table with on that particular day. I believe therapy is collaborative and the client and therapist are both actively working on getting a client to their treatment goals.

In my work, I emphasize the importance of a nonjudgmental environment where trust and rapport can be built so I can better help you reach your personalized goals. During a session, you will be met with a mirror of yourself and in doing so will help align that reflection with your values and treatment goals.

I am very passionate about the work that she does and the unique and complex lives that I am welcomed into. I am excited to be a guide for the next step on your mental health journey, whether I am your first therapist or your hundredth.

What you can expect from me

A first session will look very different from any other. My template for a first session includes understanding a client's prior history with mental health treatment and what, if at all, was positive or negative for them. A general client history will be conducted to understand how you've become the human being sitting in front of her. Then an introductory conversation will be had about goals for therapy. If therapy was successful, what would that mean? What would change for you? The goal of therapy is to get the client to where they would like to be, not where I would like them to be.
