Great to meet you!

Hey y’all, welcome! I’m Caroline. Since 2006, I have worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a special focus on autism and supporting the families who love them. I especially enjoy helping parents better understand their child’s autism diagnosis, build connection, and find practical ways to navigate parenting challenges, family stress, behavioral concerns, and the emotional overwhelm that can come with trying to do the right thing for your child.

I am certified in the PLAY Project and Triple P, the Positive Parenting Program, which helps me support families with tools that are both evidence-informed and realistic for everyday life. I am not a parent myself, and I will not pretend to know exactly what it is like to walk in your shoes. What I can promise is that I will meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and support you with warmth, honesty, practical guidance, and a little humor along the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not a place where someone tells you what you are doing wrong. In session, we will work together to understand what is happening in your family, identify your child’s strengths and needs, build on what is already working, and develop practical strategies that fit your real life.

Using my background in autism support, intellectual and developmental disabilities, the PLAY Project, and Triple P, I help parents and families strengthen connection, improve communication, respond to challenging behaviors, reduce stress, and feel more confident in their parenting. My style is down-to-earth, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. I believe families do best when they feel understood, supported, and equipped with tools they can actually use.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I will listen to your concerns, learn more about your child, your family, your goals, and what support would feel most helpful right now. We may talk about your child’s autism diagnosis, developmental needs, parenting stress, family routines, behavior challenges, communication, connection, or the moments that feel hardest to manage.

I will also explain how approaches like the PLAY Project and Triple P may support you and your child, while making sure we choose a direction that feels like a good fit before jumping in. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, encouraged, and more confident that you do not have to navigate this alone.
