Great to meet you!

I'm the founder of Mariposa Integrative Therapy, a Austin-based practice dedicated to trauma-informed, relational healing. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) with over 30 years of experience walking alongside people through healing, change, and growth. My practice is based in Austin, but my reach extends to areas around Austin with virtual sessions available to anyone in Texas.

I’ve worked in a wide variety of settings — hospitals, schools, and private practice — and I’ve learned that healing is never one-size-fits-all.

I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, stress, relational struggles, and life transitions. My clients often tell me they feel safe, deeply understood, and respected — especially those who have been through experiences that left them feeling unseen or unheard.

On a personal note, I’m a widow and a mother. I am a writer, and a lifelong believer in the human capacity to transform pain into purpose.

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach that blends evidence-based techniques with genuine warmth and deep respect for your unique story. I draw from somatic therapy, Parts Work (IFS-informed), narrative therapy, mindfulness, and CBT.

For many years, I worked extensively with couples, helping partners navigate communication challenges, conflict, trust issues, attachment wounds, and relationship transitions. While that experience continues to inform my work, my current focus is helping individuals build the skills and self-awareness needed for healthy, lasting relationships. I work with clients who want to understand their relationship patterns, heal from past wounds, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, and make wiser choices in partners. Whether you are preparing for a future relationship, recovering from a difficult one, or seeking to become a healthier partner yourself, therapy can help you develop the foundation for deeper connection, resilience, and emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you — not just your symptoms or struggles, but your strengths, values, and hopes. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, what you want from the process, and what has (or hasn’t) worked in the past.

There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. My goal is to create a space that feels grounding and supportive, where you can start to breathe a little easier and know you’re not alone in what you’re facing.
