Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Carolyn, and I'm truly grateful you're here. Taking the first step toward therapy and your healing journey is a brave and meaningful decision. I believe in meeting people exactly where they are, and honoring the truth that each person carries unique life experiences and hardships. Through a compassionate, person-centered approach, I strive to empower my clients by providing a safe, supportive space where healing can begin.

I am an experienced and skills clinician with 13 years of providing therapy and treatment services for clients from all walks of life. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio and I earned my MSW from West Virginia University.

My approach to therapy

I use evidence-based therapies tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. I’m trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which uses rapid eye movements and image replacement to help process traumatic memories. I also incorporate approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe therapy should be relatable, supportive, and even fun at times, and I enjoy weaving pop culture and “Geek Therapy” into sessions to help clients feel at ease while working toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

From the very beginning of our work together, I believe in creating a space where you feel like an active partner in your healing journey. We'll collaborate to identify what matters most to you- whether it's managing anxiety, processing trauma, improving relationships, or simply feeling more like yourself again. Together, we'll set meaningful, personalized goals that reflect your values, needs, and hopes for the future. I understand that life is constantly changing, and so are your needs. That's why treatment goals aren't set in stone. As we move through therapy, I'll regularly check in on your progress, celebrate your wins, and make adjustments as life unfolds. If new challenges or priorities arise, we'll revisit your goals and reshape them to fit where you are at the moment. To help you reach your goals, I'll offer a mix of evidence-based tools, compassionate support, and practical skills you can apply to everyday life. Whether it's building healthier coping strategies, processing difficult emotions, or challenging unhelpful thought patterns, I'll guide you through each step at a pace that feels right for you. Most importantly, you'll never have to navigate this journey alone. I'll be right beside you- listening, encouraging, and helping you stay connected to your strengths and the progress you're making.
