Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I have been working in the counseling field for several years with different types of experiences. I enjoy working with children, as well as adults.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Education in Educational Psychology, Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling, and Specialist in Education in School Counseling from the University of Georgia.

I have worked in a variety of counseling settings that include:

  • vocational rehabilitation facility
  • public schools (elementary, middle, and high schools)
  • early intervention public health program
  • community service board crisis support home and mobile crisis team
  • community service board crisis stabilization units for Adults and Children and Adolescents
  • military base
  • private practice

My approach to therapy

I enjoy helping others see what is possible through positive mental health. I feel that therapy gives people time for healing and discussing issues of importance to them. It is also a time to discuss the future and how they see themselves in it. Setting goals and working to reach them are essential to the counseling process, and I am here to help you determine when it is time to move on from issues that are keeping you in a negative position in life.

Although I feel competent in many areas of counseling, the following are focus areas of specialty and expertise:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief Issues
  • Disabilities
  • Family Conflict
  • School Issues
  • Life Transitions
  • ADHD
  • Impulse Issues
  • Trauma and PTSD

I look forward to working with you on your journey to positive mental health!

What you can expect from me

One of the most important aspects of the initial clinical assessment is determining if we are a good fit to work with each other. I tell clients in the first session, you are assessing me, just as I am assessing you. Discussing what you want to get out of the counseling process is also important. I provide an open and warm environment to assist with your discussion of goals.
