Great to meet you!

Hello! I am an intuitive and empathic Somatic Psychotherapist in Lake County, IL who believes that our body and mind work together for our good. I bring a wealth of experience to my work with clients after serving in leadership roles in the military, church, school, and business communities, as well as a being a community advocate. My passion for deeper healing and understanding of human development drove me to become a Somatic Experiencing® Practioner.

I have extensive experience working with traumatized teens, couples, families, and communities using Somatic Experiencing to help clients heal from PTSD and trauma. I provide expert recovery (alcohol, drug, food, etc.) support, parenting support and grief counseling, including providing support through painful transitions such as divorce, loss of a loved one or break-up, military deployment, launching grown children, or the loss of a job using a mind-body lens. I am also effective assisting clients in managing their anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. My master’s level research with couples who miscarried and bypass patients, led to my interest in working with most post surgical issues, as well as women’s healthcare, perinatal and postnatal adjustments, miscarriage, and pre and post abortion experiences. I really connect with my clients and work with the unique needs of each client to help them feel safe. My goal is help clients of all ages live their best life.

I am the mother of 3 adult children and one sweet grand child. I most enjoy spending time with them in any capacity. Otherwise, I enjoy reading, walking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga, cooking, puzzling, traveling, playing with clay, and trying new things.

My approach to therapy

I believe my role as a therapist is to meet clients where they are, truly connect, and walk through challenges with them as they grow and change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will start to get to know one another, and identify your goals for our work together. Of course, this may change after we get started. Together, we will determine how to achieve the goals you have for yourself.
