Prior to becoming a child-centered play therapist, I was an elementary school teacher for 13 years. I am a two-time graduate from Northern Arizona University. I have been trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Nurturing Parenting, Heart Math, and Child-Centered Play Therapy.
For children ages 3-13, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy. When working with teenagers, I utilize a person-centered approach while incorporating techniques from CBT, EMDR, and Heart Math. When working with caregivers, I utilize concepts from Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.
During the first session, we will discuss why you are seeking therapy for your child. In addition, I will complete a few assessments to better get to know your child and your family's needs. We will work collaboratively to determine therapeutic goals for treatment.
