Carrie Grubisic

Hi there! I'm Carrie. I work with new moms who have experienced trauma and help them flourish in this new chapter. I’m an EMDR certified therapist, meaning I have specific training and experience in a highly effective type of trauma recovery therapy. I am a toddler mom myself and understand the deep sorrows, fears, strange thoughts, and rage that come up in motherhood.

I partner with clients to create a holistic approach tailored to their specific concerns. Initially, I help clients with grounding, stabilization, and making sure needs are met. As new moms, we can forget about our own needs! I then help clients process through trauma that is retracting from the joy of this new life stage. Finally, I help clients implement lasting changes in their lives.

Clients typically share that their traumatic memories no longer feel sharp and painful when they think about them, after therapy with me. Those memories no longer feel like they are running their lives but that they are in charge. New moms find a safe place to grieve, let out all of the “ugly” feelings, and build some space for themselves. They feel empowered to embrace this next stage of life and uncover joy.
