Great to meet you!

Welcome to the part where I attempt to convey my therapeutic essence to strangers on the internet whilst being mindful of not sounding like a robot. Admittedly, not my strongest skill. So, if you’ve made it this far—thank you and hello.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 17 years of experience in human services, working as a therapist for adults in the past six years. I have a lot of experience supporting and advocating on behalf of folks in their most vulnerable moments, including being a support for individuals navigating and recovering from abusive relationships, victims of disaster, geriatric clients, and working as a 24-hour caregiver (and art teacher) for adults and teens with disabilities. These opportunities allowed me to creatively problem solve while providing a sense of safety, comfort, dignity, and connection for individuals with complex needs, which has translated into how I show up as a therapist.

My approach to therapy

I feel passionate about helping clients rebuild their confidence, trust themselves, and advocate for their needs, while recognizing how systems of oppression around race, class, gender, and ability impact their lives. Together, we can explore patterns in how you respond to stress, relate to others, and connect with your body, then figure out ways to navigate these patterns. Through a gentle, open approach where your feedback is always welcome, my hope is that you feel truly seen and valued, and leave our sessions with practical insights you can use in your daily life.

I believe it is critical for clients to find the right fit therapist for them and any reason you don’t like a therapist is valid. If you decide after one, five, or a hundred sessions with me that I’m not the right fit, I hope to help you feel empowered enough to try again until you feel secure and supported in the ways that work best for you. I welcome all adult clients (and promise to never use the word, ‘I’ this often again after writing this bio).

What you can expect from me

You are the expert on your own life, so I follow your lead on what we focus on each week and what goals matter most to you. I'm patient, empathetic, and compassionate, and I'll meet you wherever you're at, supporting you in sharing your true feelings at whatever pace feels right.

I earn trust by showing up consistently, accepting you unconditionally, and creating a safe space where you can freely express and work through your feelings and experiences. Clients have most often told me they feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered from working together, and that they feel comfortable stating their true feelings, without fear of being judged.
