Great to meet you!

I believe therapy is a collaborative and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and empowered to create meaningful change. In sessions, I bring warmth, compassion, humor, and an affirming approach to working with teens and adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I have lived experience as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I hold a compassionate space for individuals at any stage of their coming-out journey. I have over 20 years of experience in non-profit behavioral health agencies working with adults and youth. I have been a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Ohio for 13 years, with extensive experience working with teenagers.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Together, we will explore the experiences, relationships, patterns, and challenges that may be affecting your mental and emotional health. I use a strengths-based approach and draw from evidence-based therapy modalities. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can develop insight, navigate relationships and life transitions, learn new strategies, and create a path to move through the challenges you are experiencing. I work with teens and adults experiencing a range of issues or concerns, including, but not limited to, anxiety/panic, depression, ADHD, substance use and addiction, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, relationship and family concerns, identity, stress, anger, LGBTQIA+ and transgender, non-traditional lifestyles, and women's issues. I also recognize that seeking therapy can take courage, and I strive to make the process feel approachable, respectful, and empowering.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on getting to know each other, reviewing your history, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identify what you hope to accomplish in our work together. I approach with an open mind and we will work at your pace. Most importantly, I want my clients to feel safe and welcomed, so you can expect to be met with empathy, compassion, and respect as we begin building a therapeutic relationship together. Your story matters, and it is an honor for me to hear it.
