Great to meet you!

I provide therapy-forward, integrative psychiatric care for adults who feel burned out, stuck, or quietly hopeless, even when they look “high functioning” to everyone else. My work is especially welcoming to LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse clients, people navigating spiritual or religious harm, and survivors of sexual orientation and/or gender identity conversion therapy experiences.

My background includes years in EMS and emergency care, including emergency department nursing and educator roles. I’m also Psych Congress faculty and a PhD student at Wayne State University, where my research focuses on conversion therapy harms and survivor meaning-making. I’m trained in IFS (Level 2), EMDR, ACT, and IFIO, and I integrate medication when it supports your goals.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, structured, and deeply collaborative. I don’t do quick med checks or a revolving door of referrals. We build one integrated plan that can include psychotherapy and medication strategy in the same visit, plus integrative supports when clinically appropriate.

I often use parts work informed by Internal Family Systems to help you understand protective patterns like anxiety, perfectionism, shutdown, or self-criticism. I use EMDR-informed trauma work when past experiences keep reactivating in the present, and ACT to help you clarify values and move forward with more flexibility. My focus is real traction, not tolerable misery.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a spacious, detailed intake where we slow down and get the full picture. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in now, what you’ve tried before, what has helped or harmed, and what you want life to look like on the other side of this. We’ll review symptoms, sleep, medical history, medications, substance use, and stressors, and we’ll do a careful safety assessment when relevant.

Before you leave, you’ll have a clear plan. That may include therapy targets, coping and regulation strategies, medication options if appropriate, and concrete next steps. Most clients leave the first session feeling understood, less alone, and more hopeful because there’s finally a path forward.
