Cary Clevenger

Hello there, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of California and Washington. I graduated from UCLA with a masters in social work in 1995 and with a BA in Psychology from UCLA. I have more than 25 years of experience as a licensed mental health therapist. I have done a lot of individual counseling, marriage and family counseling. I am a father of two adult daughters and have been happily married for 16 years. I am a spiritual person who loves cycling and playing pickleball.

I work best with clients who are open and curious. I really appreciate honesty and want my clients to express how they feel. I work best with clients who tell me what's working and what isn't working. I work best with clients who like closure and are able to tell me they are ready to move on for whatever reason. I usually do best with clients who take a few notes and are willing to do the work in between sessions.

Expect to get a holistic assessment of areas that could use improvement, some kind of homework assignment, and some tools to start to practice. I am generally ok with clients asking some questions about me or treatment as this helps to build our connection which is the best way to be helpful to the client. Hopefully we hit it off and you feel like you made the right decision.
