Great to meet you!

I’ve spent 20 years in mental and behavioral health because I believe people are capable of more than they realize, even when things feel heavy. What draws me to this work is sitting with someone in the middle of a hard season and watching them find their footing again.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University and my Master’s in Counseling from Missouri State University. I also pursued doctoral-level studies at Roberts Wesleyan College. My clinical background spans forensic psychology, psychological testing, relationships, and sexual health, which has given me a broad foundation for working with a wide range of people and challenges.

I work with individuals, couples, and families across Missouri, all sessions virtual. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, maternal mental health, relationship challenges, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

My practice is a space where all of who you are is welcome, whether that includes your faith, your identity, or both.

If I had to describe my style in a few words: warm, direct, and judgment-free.

My approach to therapy

Therapy isn’t one size fits all, so I don’t treat it that way. I draw from several evidence-based approaches depending on what fits you and your goals: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples work.

In practice, that usually means we’re working on one of two things, or both: processing goals (shifting how you think about or relate to something) and outcome goals (reducing symptoms and building the habits or behaviors you actually want). We figure out together what makes sense for you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just a conversation. I want to hear what brought you in, what’s been going on, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you’re ready to.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we might work together and whether I feel like a good fit. That matters. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable with your therapist, and I’d rather you find the right person than stay with the wrong one.
