Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I’ve worked extensively with older adults through online therapy and private practice, supporting them through retirement transitions, health challenges, and grief. My experience also includes an inpatient psychiatric unit and three years as a counselor and program manager at a U.S. Naval installation, where I supported service members, veterans, and families through stress, loss, and major life adjustments. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, grief, or major life transitions. Many are carrying worry, feeling unfocused or overwhelmed and wondering how to move forward. I bring warmth and practical tools, including CBT, mindfulness, and relaxation skills, to help you feel supported at every stage of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, based on the idea that our thoughts shape our emotions and behaviors. I also weave in mindfulness and relaxation techniques to ease stress and support well-being. Therapy with me is a place where you feel accepted and supported as you build on your strengths.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. We’ll start with a quick review of confidentiality and what to expect from therapy. Then I’ll ask about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, your health and life history, and the supports you already have. Most importantly, we’ll talk about your goals and what you’d like to be different. Before we finish, we’ll outline a plan for moving forward, and I may introduce a simple relaxation or mindfulness technique you can try right away. You’re welcome to ask me anything, and you set the pace.
