Great to meet you!
My clinical view is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral approach. I understand clients within the context of their experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, and the ways trauma may have shaped their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and sense of safety. A trauma-informed perspective emphasizes safety, trust, collaboration, choice, empowerment, and cultural humility. Rather than viewing a client’s symptoms or behaviors as simply problematic, I consider what purpose they may have served as adaptive responses to difficult or traumatic experiences.
