Cassie Salewske

I've been in human services for nearly 30 years, and helping people heal, grow, and evolve is my passion and purpose. I started my career in teaching, and transitioned to counseling about 20 years ago. I have additional training in clinical hypnotherapy and energy/shamanic healing, which informs my work with clients (but is not covered by insurance). I consider myself a holistic therapist, and love it when clients want to include spiritual topics in their plan for mental and emotional wellness.

I would describe my style as warm, funny, open-minded, curious, and encouraging. I believe in gentle challenge and inquiry, within a safe and supportive container.

I have expertise in identity issues (including LGBTQIA+ folks), trauma recovery, codependency, relationship issues and healthy communication skills, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and deeper dives into issues around purpose, meaning, and spirituality.

In my work with clients, I try to normalize symptoms and struggles as much as possible. One of the worst things we can feel is alone, or like we're the only person having a specific issue or problem. I also strive to empower my clients to gain skills and wisdom that they can apply on their own. Being in therapy forever is not the goal! Lastly, I help clients identify patterns and stories that perhaps they are unaware of. Digging into subconscious and unconscious patterns is a specialty of mine.
