Great to meet you!

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to even begin, you don't have to carry it alone. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, and much of my work is with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and the weight of substance use and recovery.

Maybe drinking or using started as a way to cope and now feels like its own problem. Maybe an old trauma keeps resurfacing, or grief and loss have left you unmoored. Maybe you're holding it together while anxiety, depression, or a major life transition quietly runs the show. I work with people in exactly these moments — including those facing housing instability and complex circumstances that rarely fit into one tidy box.

I bring extensive experience in addiction and trauma recovery, and real respect for how hard it can be to ask for help. Therapy with me is grounded and nonjudgmental — a place to slow down, get honest, and build toward stability, clarity, and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My style is both direct and relational — I won't just sit back and nod. I'll engage with you in a real, thoughtful way, so you feel genuinely known and appropriately challenged.

I draw on several evidence-based approaches and match them to what you need. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift the thought patterns driving anxiety and depression. For trauma and PTSD, I use EMDR to help your brain reprocess painful experiences so they lose their grip. When substance use and trauma show up together, I rely on Seeking Safety — a model built for exactly that overlap — alongside Motivational Interviewing to help you find your own reasons for change. I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS) so you can understand the different parts of yourself with less shame.

The modality matters less than the work itself. Lasting change happens through honest, collaborative effort: we'll set clear goals, track what's working, and adjust as we go.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is low-pressure — a chance to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, what you've tried before, and what "better" would look like for you. There's no expectation that you have it all figured out.

Over time, my clients tend to feel steadier and more in control — less ruled by anxiety, cravings, or old patterns, and more able to manage strong emotions instead of being flooded by them. You can expect to build real coping skills, set boundaries that protect your recovery, communicate more honestly, and reconnect with parts of yourself that trauma or addiction may have buried.

You don't have to stay stuck. If you're ready for the next step, I'm ready to do this work with you.
