Caterina Amici

I'm Caterina Amici, a newly Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I hold a Master of Social Work in Community Mental Health from California State University, Fullerton. Over the past four years I have worked directly with adults and youth in trauma and crisis settings, most recently as a therapist at the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter and previously at the Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center. I have seen what happens when life stress, family problems, and trauma events compound and become difficult to manage on your own. That drives why I do this work. In my private practice, I specialize in working with adolescents navigating anxiety, life transitions, and the everyday pressures of growing up. I see clients via telehealth across California with availability on Wednesday mornings, Fridays, and Saturdays. I look forward to seeing if we are a good fit.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I draw on what works best for each person I work with and believe in meeting clients where they are. Building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and genuine care is central to my work. Starting therapy takes courage, especially for adolescents who may not have asked for it themselves. My goal is to create a space where young people feel heard and understood, not managed or judged.

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I want to understand what is going on in your life and what you are hoping therapy can offer. There is no pressure and no agenda beyond that. We figure things out together. I look forward to hearing from you.
