Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Caterina, an LCSW in the Philadelphia area. My work starts from one belief: you already have strengths worth building on. Whether you're navigating a life transition, managing a health condition, or working through substance use, I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can explore what's hard, recognize your own resilience, and build practical tools for lasting change. I'd love to be part of that journey with you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. I strive to truly understand your experiences from your perspective, without assumptions or judgment. I bring a warm, compassionate presence into each session and deeply respect the courage it takes to be vulnerable and begin the process of change.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, identify unhelpful patterns, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical tools that help you navigate life's challenges both in and outside of therapy. I also approach therapy through a person-in-environment lens, recognizing that our mental health is shaped not only by our internal experiences but also by our relationships, family dynamics, cultural background, work, community, and the broader systems we interact with. By considering the whole person and the context in which they live, we can better understand challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.

My clinical experience includes working on the front lines of the opioid epidemic, supporting individuals experiencing significant crises, complex mental health concerns, and limited support systems. These experiences have strengthened my ability to remain calm, compassionate, and grounded while helping clients navigate some of life's most difficult moments.

No matter your current circumstances or past struggles, I am committed to offering guidance, support, and respect. Healing is rarely linear, and I believe meaningful growth happens when clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you recognize your own resilience, and create a space where you feel safe, empowered, and never defined by your hardest chapters.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll want to learn what’s bringing you into therapy right now, what feels most important to talk about, and what you hope to gain from this experience. We’ll explore your goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you — whether you have something very specific in mind or you’re still figuring that out.

I’m also interested in understanding you as a whole person, not just the challenges you’re facing. We may talk about your relationships, background, strengths, stressors, and the experiences that have shaped you. Therapy isn’t just about symptoms — it’s about your story.
