Dr. Catherine Ben-Agu

Dr. Catherine Ben-Agu is a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. She has 13 years of experience in psychiatry. Catherine attended Touro University where she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP); she also attended Walden University where she completed her bachelors and masters degree in nursing (PMHNP). Through her many years of experience, she partners with, adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients with psychiatric problems. She provides proper assessment, accurate diagnoses, prescription, treatment, and evaluation. Experienced in treating psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, ADD, personality disorders like BPD, Mood disorder, Bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorders, and ODD.

Through great interpersonal and communication skills, Dr. Catherine is able to establish trust, and communicate with clients in a therapeutic manner that upholds respect and preserves client’s autonomy and dignity. She is culturally competent, nonjudgmental, and uses compassion, empathy, and active listening in all her interaction with clients.
