My name is Catherine Del Toro and I have been in the field for over 12 years. I graduated with my Master's Degree in 2013 from Nova Southeastern University. Since then, I have had experience working in community mental health, in a hospital setting, and in private practice. I specialize in working with young adults with anxiety, depression, and/or substance use disorders.
My approach in therapy is client focused, and while I use different modalities (DBT, CBT, solution-focused, etc.) it really depends on the client and their needs.
Clients can expect a structured session, where they are challenged and confronted on issues in an effort to gain insight and develop skills and techniques to manage their presenting symptoms. We will laugh together, cry together, and go through the process in session together, though the client will be empowered to put in the work outside of the session to meet their goals.
