Catherine Herbert

Hi there, my name is Cathy and I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience working with all ages-child/adolescent through older adults. I graduated from UCSF's master's NP program in 2017 and prior to that worked as a registered nurse on an inpatient psychiatric unit and in the emergency room as a psychiatric crisis nurse. I look forward to utilizing my experience and education to help in any way I can.

My style stems from my training as a psychiatric nurse at UCLA medical center where we focused on relationship-based care and used the recovery model. This means that the client/provider relationship is at the center and focuses on creating treatment plans and goals together as a team.

My first session typically focuses on getting to know you, what has brought you to see me, setting a goals for treatment and a plan that we both agree upon.
