Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Cathy. I enjoy treating individuals with trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD and varying mental health diagnoses. I have been in the counseling profession since 2008 when I obtained my masters degree in clinical counseling. I completed my license in 2011 as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in 3 mental health agencies and at a substance use agency as a co-occurring counselor for both mental health and substance use. I had a private practice from 2012 to 2019 which I managed part time.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is honest and open. I am client centered meaning you are the important person in the room and the session is focused on helping you. I am solution focused and have a conversational style. I enjoy teaching skills to help with emotions, effective communication and relationship problems.

What you can expect from me

From the sessions you can expect to feel valued and that your concerns matter and are of primary importance. You can expect to learn skills to improve how you interact with others, manage your own emotions and to improve your own sense of competence and efficacy. We will work together to help you manage your trauma, anxiety and or depression and focus on helping you improve your functioning.
