Great to meet you!

I have over 14 years of experience as a healthcare social worker, with the last six years specializing in counseling for individuals and families experiencing a serious illness, from the diagnosis itself to the impact illness brings on one's sense of self, how one makes meaning in life, and how illness impact relationships, work, and every aspect of life. Patient populations I have significant experience with include cancer patients, solid organ transplant patients, and chronic critical illness.

I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, where I also completed the Aging Concentration, focusing on geriatric social work. I have also completed the Palliative and End of Life certificate program from Smith College. In addition to my education, I hold exam based certifications, including the Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Work Certified (APHSW-C) and the Fellow in Thanatology certification (FT) from the Association for Death Education and Counseling.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative. I bring my experience, training, and education, and ask my clients to bring the most important part to sessions - their authentic selves and their expertise on what matters most in their lives. My hope is to provide a nonjudgemental space to explore the challenges my clients are seeking assistance, and to map a course together towards the goals my clients have. Life frequently brings unexpected challenges, and I am comfortable with knowing when to quickly adapt, as well as helping to hold the uncertainties present when someone is navigating a challenging time.

What you can expect from me

A first session with me involves engaging in building rapport while also exploring many "what's." What are you going through? What are you seeking help with, including what may be working or what you may be looking building coping skills in? What brings you meaning in life? What makes you the person you are today? We'll work together to formulate path together through these questions and my hope is you will feel seen and heard.
