Great to meet you!

I love working with people who have spent a lot of their lives feeling like they don't quite fit into the boxes society has created for them. Whether you're LGBTQIA+, figuring out life with ADHD, exploring your sexuality, or navigating relationships that don't follow the traditional script, I want you to know that you won't have to explain or justify who you are to me.

I'm a big believer that therapy doesn't have to be serious all the time. I use humor, ask lots of questions, and genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients. I'm not the kind of therapist who just sits quietly and nods. I'll listen, offer different perspectives, and sometimes challenge you to look at things a little differently.

I'm sex-positive, kink-affirming, and comfortable talking about things that might feel awkward to bring up elsewhere. I don't believe there's one right way to live, love, or build relationships. What matters to me is helping you figure out what works for you and how to get there.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself with me. You don't need to impress me, filter yourself, or worry about saying the wrong thing. We're both human, and we'll figure things out together.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I like to get to know you, understand what you're struggling with, and figure out together what might actually be helpful.

My approach combines person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , and strengths-based therapy. Here's what that might look like when we work together. With CBT, we might take a situation that's been bothering you and break down what happened, what you were thinking, how you felt, and how you responded. Then we'll explore whether there's another way to look at it. We'll often practice those skills together so you feel more comfortable using them outside of therapy. I also use a person-centered and strengths-based approach, which means I'll listen to what's important to you, follow your lead when appropriate, and help you recognize the strengths and resources you already have.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, sex-positive, and kink-affirming. I welcome clients of all identities and relationship structures, including polyamory and consensual nonmonogamy. I don't make assumptions about what your relationships or your life should look like. Instead, we'll focus on what feels healthy and fulfilling to you.

I'm an active, conversational therapist. I'll ask questions, share observations, offer feedback, and sometimes gently challenge you. I also use humor when it feels appropriate. Therapy can involve some difficult conversations, but I don't think it always has to feel heavy. I want you to leave sessions with a better understanding of yourself and, when it makes sense, something practical you can use in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our sessions will be 50 minutes long and our first session is really about getting to know each other. We'll start with a quick review of confidentiality, what to expect from therapy, and any questions you might have. From there, I'll ask about what brings you to therapy, what's going on in your life, and what you're hoping to get out of our time together.

We'll spend some time talking about your background, relationships, and any challenges you've been dealing with. I know it can feel a little awkward opening up to someone new, so there's no pressure to share everything right away. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Toward the end of our session, we'll talk about what you'd like to work on in therapy and what our next steps might look like. I'll also check in to see how you're feeling about working together.

My goal is for our first session to feel more like a conversation than an interview. You don't need to have everything figured out or even know where to start. That's something I can help you with!
