Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in both mental health counseling and music. I earned my Bachelor’s in Music from Morgan State University and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. My training includes trauma, anxiety, PTSD, grief, relationships, human sexuality, and shame, as well as creative and experiential approaches like music and art-based therapy. I bring both clinical skill and emotional presence into my work, and I care deeply about helping people feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to grow.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is trauma informed, relational, and eclectic, meaning I draw from different methods based on what each client needs. I studied music therapy, which shaped how I work through the idea of entrainment, or meeting you where you are emotionally and in your nervous system. Alongside talk therapy, I also offer creative and expressive tools such as music, writing, art, or visualization when they are helpful. You do not have to be artistic, just open to exploring what helps you feel more connected to yourself.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about creating a space that feels safe, grounded, and welcoming while we talk about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to work on. We will also briefly review your rights as a client and the limits of confidentiality so you know what to expect. Together, we will identify a few initial goals or focus areas to give us a clear direction. Most clients leave their first session feeling more understood, more grounded, and less alone.
