Great to meet you!

When anxiety, changes in your mood, or other mental health concerns interfere with daily life, finding someone you feel comfortable talking to matters. I help people across the lifespan who are navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, serious mental illness, and substance use concerns. I’m Dr. Catherine Udofia, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and I want to understand both what you’re going through and what matters to you. You can speak openly, ask questions, and share concerns about treatment. Together, we’ll explore your options and develop a plan that fits your needs and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and education about your mental health. In our sessions, we’ll talk through what’s troubling you, build on your strengths, and explore practical ways to cope. When medication may help, I’ll explain the options, discuss benefits and possible side effects, and follow how you’re responding. I’ve provided psychiatric care since 2014, working with people across the lifespan in community, forensic, and geriatric settings. I bring that experience to our conversations while keeping your goals and preferences central to your care.

What you can expect from me

During our first visit, we’ll talk about what brought you in and what you’d like help with. I’ll ask about your symptoms, health history, medications, and past treatment experiences, while leaving room for your questions and concerns. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We’ll work together to understand your needs and develop a plan for moving forward.
