Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with a Master's in Counseling from Amberton University, and my own life experiences are actually a big part of what led me to this population. I connect easily with people who are navigating hard, messy chapters of life. My clinical focus is trauma and domestic violence recovery. I've worked with survivors, crime victims, and veterans. Currently, I mainly support adults working through complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic illness and the fallout of leaving unsafe situations. I support survivors who have challenges such as legal or custody and child support issues.

My approach to therapy

I lean trauma and neuroscience-informed, which means I help you to understand why your brain and body react the way they do. Learning about normal physical and mental impacts of trauma helps to reduce shame and self judgement. I often work through an attachment-based lens, and I focus on boundary education and skills, since so much of what brings people in traces back to relationships and where our limits got blurred. For clients who are open to it, I offer Brainspotting for trauma that feels stuck in the body rather than words, and I'll bring in CBT tools when they're needed. Ultimately, I'm following your lead, since you know your life better than I do, and we build the plan together, at your pace.

What you can expect from me

The first session is getting to know each other. There is no pressure to cover everything you want to on day one. We'll talk about what brought you in, I'll answer any questions you have about how I work, and we'll start loosely mapping out what feels helpful moving forward. My hope is that you walk out feeling like you were actually heard, and that this could be a place where the harder work feels doable.
