Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Catina Griffin, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I am passionate about helping individuals improve their mental health and overall quality of life through compassionate, supportive, and evidence-based care.

I have experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, and other co-occurring mental health conditions. My approach to treatment is patient-centered, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care.

I earned my Master of Nursing (MSN) degree and have worked in both mental health and healthcare settings caring for diverse populations. My treatment approach may include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and coordination of care tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.

I have a special interest in trauma-informed care, dual-diagnosis treatment, anxiety disorders, depression, and improving access to quality mental health services within underserved communities.

My goal is to help clients build coping skills, improve emotional wellness, and feel empowered throughout their healing journey. Seeking help is a courageous step, and I look forward to supporting you along the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered. I believe that every individual deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their mental health journey. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns openly and honestly.

I utilize an evidence-based approach that combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and individualized treatment planning. I work closely with clients to develop realistic goals and treatment plans that align with their personal needs, values, and lifestyle.

I have experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and co-occurring mental health conditions. I also have a special interest in trauma-informed care, dual-diagnosis treatment, and improving access to mental health services within underserved communities.

I believe mental health treatment works best when there is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. My goal is to empower clients with the tools, education, and support needed to improve emotional wellness, strengthen coping skills, and enhance overall quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment during their first session with me. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and respected while beginning the process of understanding their mental health needs and treatment goals.

During the initial appointment, we will discuss current concerns, symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, stressors, and any previous treatment experiences. I also take time to learn about each client’s personal strengths, support system, and goals for treatment so we can develop an individualized plan of care together.

The first session is focused on building trust, gathering information, and identifying the best path forward. Depending on the client’s needs, this may include discussing coping strategies, lifestyle factors, therapy recommendations, medication options, and short- and long-term treatment goals.

I strive to create a collaborative experience where clients feel actively involved in their care and empowered throughout their mental health journey. My goal is for clients to leave the session feeling supported, informed, and hopeful about their progress moving forward.
