Great to meet you!

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in California (United States), New Zealand, and Taiwan, with eight years of clinical experience as a licensed psychologist in mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention. I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology through the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, a joint program between Palo Alto University and the Stanford University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including psychiatric inpatient care, outpatient hospital services, integrated behavioral health and primary care, community mental health, and high school settings. My clinical experience focuses primarily on working with young adults and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and complex mental health conditions. I also have extensive experience supporting international students, undergraduate and graduate students, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, I value the importance of understanding each person's unique experiences, cultural background, and individual needs. I strive to bring cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for each individual's perspective to my clinical work.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice and tailored to each client's unique needs, experiences, and goals. I draw primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Problem-Solving Therapy to help clients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, develop effective coping strategies, and navigate life's challenges. I value a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship in which clients feel heard and understood while working toward meaningful, sustainable changes. My goal is to help clients build on their strengths, enhance psychological flexibility, and develop practical skills to improve their well-being and quality of life.

What you can expect from me

I want our first session to feel like a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and sharing at your own pace. During our first session, we will get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy, the challenges you may be facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I may ask questions about your experiences and background to better understand your concerns and what kind of support might be helpful for you.

We will also discuss your goals and expectations for therapy, as well as any questions or concerns you may have about the therapeutic process. If you are new to therapy or unsure what to expect, we can explore that together, too.

You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable to you. There is no expectation to have everything figured out or to share more than you are ready to. Together, we can begin developing a shared understanding of your needs and consider how therapy can support you in working toward your goals.
