Great to meet you!

I have a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. And I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology from UCLA. I've been working as a licensed psychotherapist in private practice for over 15 years. I've been a supervisor to seven interns, a professor of psychology at a community college, facilitated many supports groups, and have worked for over a decade as a therapist at a bereavement camp for 7-17 year olds. I love working with individuals and couples of all ages to improve their relationships, lessen their anxiety and live more authentic lives.

My approach to therapy

Are you having trouble with difficult people in your life? Do you want to rediscover yourself and your life's purpose? Are you looking for specific strategies to live a more balanced and fulfilling life? I can help. Together we'll explore your self-defeating behaviors, irrational thoughts and family dynamics. We will also concentrate on what makes you unique, resilient and hopeful. My approach to therapy is creative, lively and experiential. The awareness that will come with this journey of discovery, coupled with a genuine therapeutic relationship between us, will lead to long-term growth and healing. I also believe there is a place for humor in psychotherapy. Humor has significant therapeutic benefits, such as lessening anxiety and promoting relaxation. So, we may laugh. I assure you, therapy is a wonderful process that brings you into the here-and-now...a great place to be!

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily about gathering information about your history and current situation to understand your needs. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine if we're a good fit for working together.
