Great to meet you!

I’m a psychotherapist and coach with nearly two decades of experience working with teens, young adults, and families. Much of my work focuses on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and helping people navigate major life transitions, including adolescence, college, relationships, and career development.

Over the past several years, I’ve focused deeply on generational, religious, and family dynamics—especially the ways past experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and to the people closest to us. My goal is simple: to help people like each other as much as they love each other.

My approach is practical, direct, and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems, while also helping clients develop clear communication skills, emotional awareness, and confidence in who they are and how they want to live.

Clients who work with me can expect thoughtful conversations, honest feedback, and a focus on meaningful growth—not just symptom relief.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is practical, thoughtful, and collaborative. I believe real change happens when people better understand themselves, their patterns, and how they communicate with the people closest to them. Much of our work focuses on strengthening emotional awareness, improving communication, and building the confidence to respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and intention.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These methods help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and internal dynamics while developing practical strategies they can apply in everyday life.

Many of the individuals and families I work with are navigating transitions—adolescence, parenting, relationships, questions of faith, career shifts, or generational family patterns. Therapy becomes a place where we slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and build healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.

My role is not to simply give advice, but to help clients develop insight, resilience, and the tools to move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy at this point in your life. We’ll talk about the challenges you’re facing, the patterns you may be noticing, and what you would like to see change or improve moving forward.

I tend to ask thoughtful questions that help us understand not only what is happening right now but also the larger context—your relationships, past experiences, and how you typically respond to stress or conflict. This helps us begin identifying the areas where meaningful progress can happen.

Clients can expect a comfortable, respectful, and honest conversation. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard and understood, while also developing a clear direction for the work ahead.

By the end of the session, we will usually have a better sense of your goals and whether working together feels like the right fit. Therapy works best when it’s collaborative, and the first meeting helps set that foundation.
