Great to meet you!

With a robust background as a social worker, my experience spans child welfare, family dynamics, and behavioral and mental health within hospital settings. This diverse background enriches my work as a mental health therapist by giving me a deep understanding of the complexities individuals and families face. My experience in child welfare has honed my skills in navigating intricate family systems and childhood trauma, while my time in hospital settings has equipped me with expertise in managing acute behavioral and mental health issues. This comprehensive experience allows me to offer empathetic, informed, and effective therapeutic support tailored to each client's unique circumstances.

My approach to therapy

In my therapeutic approach, I integrate mindfulness with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts and feelings while also working to challenge and change unwanted patterns. By incorporating person-centered techniques, I ensure each individual feels valued and understood, fostering a supportive environment for personal growth. Additionally, trauma-focused therapy is woven into the process to address and heal past traumas, while solution-focused strategies guide clients toward practical solutions and actionable steps. This blended approach allows for a comprehensive, empathetic, and effective treatment tailored to each client's unique needs and experiences.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my main goal is to get to know you—your story, your strengths, and what brings you in. We’ll explore what you’d like to work on and begin identifying the goals that feel most meaningful and achievable for you. I take time to understand not just the challenges you’re facing, but also the support systems, values, and experiences that shape who you are.

I create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—we collaborate to set intentions and outline a direction for future sessions. You can expect active listening, curiosity, and a space where you are respected and heard.

By the end of the first session, most clients leave with a clearer sense of next steps, a feeling of relief from being understood, and confidence that they’re not facing things alone.
