Great to meet you!

Hi — I am Charity. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with five years of experience working alongside people during some of life's most difficult chapters: serious illness, caregiving, grief, anxiety, and the moments when life feels heavier than it should. I have spent significant time in palliative care and community health, which means I am very comfortable sitting with complexity, ambiguity, and the emotions that do not fit neatly into categories.I work with adults and seniors — including those who are caring for aging parents, processing a diagnosis, navigating grief, or simply feeling stuck and overwhelmed. If faith is part of your life, I can integrate Christian counseling into our work together. If it is not, that is completely fine too. My sessions are available in the evenings and on Saturdays, so you do not have to rearrange your entire week to get support.

My approach to therapy

My approach pulls from what I have seen actually work: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for shifting thought patterns and building coping skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for the moments when the goal is learning to carry something rather than fight it, and Strength-Based and Solution-Focused methods when what you need is forward momentum. I also draw on Motivational Interviewing for clients who are figuring out what change looks like for them.I am direct without being clinical. I do not use jargon, and I do not pretend there are easy answers when there are not. I take your situation seriously and I will give you honest, grounded support — not just validation.

What you can expect from me

Before we start, you will have a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether this is a good fit — no pressure, no obligation. In our first full session, I will spend most of the time listening. I want to understand your situation in your own words, not fit you into a template. We will talk about what brought you here, what has or has not worked in the past, and what you actually want out of therapy — whether that is coping skills, clarity, processing grief, or just having somewhere to think out loud.By the end of the first session, you will have a clear sense of how I work and a rough direction for where we go next. Most clients leave that first session feeling heard and a little lighter.
